Updates for ppSD2 are routinely released which means that at some point you will need to update your program to the newest version. Ascad Networks offers a number of options to ensure that you are always up-to-date. Please note that a program update can include both new features and bug corrections.

The “Advanced Upgrade Package” is a service that will ensure that your copy of ppSD2 is always up-to-date. Listed below are the benefits of the “Advanced Support Package”:

Twice a month, our technicians will manually update your copy of ppSD2 so that you always have the most recent version of the program installed.

New updates for the program are generally released twice per month.

We strongly recommend backing up your files prior to updating ppSD2. This is especially important if any custom programming has been done on your program.

If you wish to update your program manually, you can do this by following these directions:

• Download the latest ppSD2 beta-stable files from your Ascad Networks account.
• Unzip the files to your local hard drive.
• Update the $FSP variable on the following files to reflect the correct absolute path to the “ppSD2” folder on your server:
  • Note: You can find the correct full server path from your ppSD2 control panel: “Setup” > Copy the path within the option entitled “Program FSP”.
    • How to update the $FSP line: $FSP = “path“; becomes $FSP = “/correct/full/server/path/to/ppSD2”;
  • /ppSD2/member_cp/user_data.php
  • /ppSD2/modules/infusion.php
  • /ppSD2/modules/infusion_pipe.php
  • /ppSD2/admin/functions_general.php
  • /ppSD2/admin/cron/cron_overview.php
• Upload all of the unzipped files to your server making sure NOT to overwrite or delete the following files & folders:
  • /ppSD2/admin/mysql.php
  • /ppSD2/admin/license.php
  • /ppSD2/admin/salt.php
  • /ppSD2/sessions/
  • /ppSD2/admin/attachments/
  • /ppSD2/admin/digitalfiles/
  • /ppSD2/admin/imports/
    • Overwriting any of these files will cause serious damage and/or lose of sensitive data, including credit card information and any encrypted data within the database. NEVER overwrite these files & folders!

Ascad Networks is not responsible in the event that errors occur following any manual update performed by the end-user. Any such errors are NOT covered by standard support. In the event that there is an error following a manual update performed by the end-user, the end-user will be charged the cost of a professional update to solve the issue and/or complete the update.
