Types of Forms

All forms take standard visitors to your web site and turn them into either a lead or a user.

Type 1: Instant Activation of Accounts

When creating a form, select “User Status” as “Active”. Following submission of the form, the user’s account will instantly be activated.

Type 2: E-Mail Confirmation Required before Activation

When creating a form, select “User Status” as “Pending E-Mail Activation”. Following submission of the form, the user will be required to click an activation link within an e-mail before his/her account becomes active.

Type 3: Administrative Confirmation Required before Activation

When creating a form, select “User Status” as “Pending Administrative Activation”. Following submission of the form, the user’s account will not become active until an administrator manually activates the user’s account.

Selling Access Following Registration

In the event that you want to sell access to a secure area, newsletters, or digital product following a user’s registration, you can do this using the shopping cart and products.

Creating a Form

Note: Before you begin, we recommend that you create your custom database fields.

From the administrative control panel:

Form Settings

Note that some of the following settings do not apply to “Paid Registration Forms”. Settings that do not apply to these forms have been underlined below:

Restricted Registration

Users will be required to have an Access Code to register from any registration page marked as Restrict Registration.

Generating Access Codes

Assuming that a form has been marked as “Restricted Registration” (more information available above in section “Form Settings”), do the following from the administrative control panel to issue codes for this form:

Sending Codes to Specific E-Mails

In the large text box, input the e-mail addresses (one per line) to which you wish to issue a code for this registration form. The e-mail sent to these users will be generated using the template “Setup” > “Edit Templates” > E-Mail Templates: “Issue Registration Codes”.

Issues a Specific Number of Codes

In the small text box labeled “Quantity”, input the number of codes that you wish to issue.

Custom Stand-Alone Page

A “Stand-Alone” form, unlike a “Template-Generated” form, is one that you create from scratch and which is NOT rendered by ppSD2.

Restricted Registration Forms

If a form is denoted as “Restricted Registration”, users will be required to input a code prior to registering from the form. Codes can be issued by clicking the “issue code” icon listed on the “Setup > List forms” section of the control panel. Users can register using the code, which must be embedded into a link. The format for this link is:

http://www.yoursite.com/ppSD2/register.php?id=form ID here&cid=code_here
