Forced User Account Updates
ppSD2 is equipped with a system allowing you to force users to update their account information upon login. The system uses a timeframe established within the program’s options to determine whether a user will be requested to update his/her account after logging in.
Activating the System
From the program “Setup”:
- Set the option entitled “Require User Updates?” to “Yes”.
- Click on “Update Options”
Establishing a Timeframe for Required Updates
From the program “Setup”:
- Using the option entitled “Require User Update Timeframe”, input a timeframe for required updates:
- Six boxes appear. These boxes represent “Years”, “Months”, “Days”, “Hours”, “Minutes”, “Seconds” between forced user updates.
- Example: To require that a user update his/her account every 3 months and 15 days, input the following:
- “00” “03” “15” “00” “00” “00”
- Click on “Update Options”
Selecting the Fields a User Can Update
From the program “Setup”:
- Tick the checkbox of all the fields you wish to require a user update using the option entitled “Forced-Update Fields”. Fields in the list appear as follows:
- [checkbox 1] Field Name ([checkbox 2] Required)
- checkbox 1: Controls whether the user will have the option to update this field
- checkbox 2: Controls whether the user will be required to input a value for this field (if ticked) or whether the user can leave the field blank.
Important
There is a difference between the “Forced-Update Fields” option and the “Updatable Fields” option. While both allow users to update their account information, the fields selected within the “Updatable Fields” option will appear on the “Update Account” section of the user control panel.
