Login Announcements
Login announcements allow you to display messages to users after they log into their accounts.
Activating the System
From the administrative control panel:
- Click on “Setup”
- Click on “Login Related Options”
- Set the option entitled “Display Announcements?” to “Yes”
Creating an Announcement
From the administrative control panel:
- Hover your mouse over “Users” and click on “Add an Announcement”
- Title: Input a title for this announcement
- Start Date: Input a date on which the program should begin displaying this announcement to users.
- End Date: Selecting “Does not expire” will only display the announcement to your users the number of times inputted within the Times to Display field and starting on the date inputted in Start Date.
- Times to Display: How many times should this announcement be displayed to each user? For example, if you input “5”, the next 5 times the user logs into his/her account, he/she will see the announcement[1]
- Announcement Format: The announcement will always be rendered within the the “Announcement: Entry” template.
- Selecting “Full HTML” means that the program will NOT add line breaks to the announcement’s “Content”. In other words, you will have to create the entire announcement’s “Content” in full HTML.
- Selecting “Partial HTML” means that you can type as you would naturally and the program will properly format the announcement’s “Content” when it is displayed to the user.
- Announcement Content: The main content of the announcement that the user will see when he/she logs in.
Managing Announcements
Once you have created an announcement you can manage them from the admin control panel by hovering your mouse over “Users” and clicking on “View Announcements”.
- Name: Name of the announcement
- Starts/Ends: Dates on which the announcement will start being displayed and will stop being displayed.
- Display: How many times to display the announcement to a user.
Color Coding

 | Gray | Announcement is not being displayed for one of the following reasons: today’s date is before the start date for the announcement or today’s date is after the end date for the announcement. |
Options

 | View activity log for this announcement. The activity log will show you which users viewed the announcement and when it was viewed. |
 | Edit the announcement. |
 | Delete the announcement. |
