Affiliate Program Overview
Enabling the Feature
From your ppSD2 administrative control panel:
- Click on “Setup”
- Click on “Affiliate Program Related Options”
- Set “Use Affiliate Program?” to “Yes”
- Click on the “Update Options” submit button
Establishing Program Settings
Universal Program Settings
The affiliate program allows you to customize all of the following options from the program “Setup”:
- Payout Rate: Percent of a referred transaction that will be credited to an affiliate’s account.
- Minimum Account Balance Before Payout?: Minimum balance an affiliate must have in their account before they can receive payouts.
- Redirect Affiliate Referrals?: When a potential customer clicks an affiliate link, where should they be redirected? Ideally this is a page with a list of products, such as the cart catalog.
- Timeframe for Fund Release?: How much time must pass after a referral is processed before the funds are “available” to the affiliate user?
- Affiliate Product Enrollment Product: If you would like to charge users to enroll in the affiliate program, select the product that must be purchased from the dropdown.
Individual User Settings
Additionally, you can customize the following on a user-by-user basis, allowing for different settings from the universal settings applied above:
- Payout Rate: Percent of a referred transaction that will be credited to this user’s affiliate account.
- Initial Payout Rate: Allows you to set a higher or lower payout rate applicable up to the “Initial Threshold” (see below).
- Initial Threshold: If you set up an “Initial Payout Rate”, this is the balance a user must accumulate before the standard payout rate kicks in.
- PayPal E-Mail: The user’s PayPal e-mail address for sending referral money.
Note: The above options will appear on the “User Management Screen” once the affiliate program has been activated (see above).
How it Works: User's End
Enrolling
Users can enroll from the “User Control Panel” by clicking the “Affiliate Program” link. Note that the “Affiliate Program” link will only appear on the user control panel if:
- The affiliate program has been activated from the ppSD2 admin control panel.
- The option entitled “User CP Feature: Affiliate Program” is set to “Yes”.
Charging for Enrollment
If you wish to charge users for enrollment into the program, from the ppSD2 admin control panel, click on “Setup” and select a product for the option entitled “Affiliate Product Enrollment Product”. When a user choses to enroll, he/she will be prompted to pay before their enrollment is completed.

How it Works: Administrative End
Manually Enrolling Users
From the ppSD2 admin control panel:
- Pull up the user’s account using the “[[ppusers:managing|User Management Screen]”
- Find the section entitled “Affiliate Program”[1]
- Tick the checkbox entitled “Enroll this user in the affiliate program”
- Input any custom settings for this user’s affiliate account, if desired. Otherwise the universal settings established in the program options will be used.
- Click on “Edit User”
Note that by manually enrolling a user, this user will NOT have to pay for his/her affiliate account.
Viewing Affiliate Users
From the ppSD2 admin control panel:
- Hover your mouse of “Subscriptions” and click on “Program Users”
The resulting screen will display the affiliate ID, username associated with the affiliate, payout rate, balance, conversion rate, and additional options.
