About ppSD2

History of the Software

ppSD2 is an unencrypted, PHP/MySQL-based membership software solution.

The history of ppSD2 is a long one, first starting in 1998. Originally named "AdPass", the program was written in CGI/Perl during it's early years. Over time the program continued to evolve, growing in both popularity and reputation. By 2002, the program was re-released as "Password Protector SD", the successful predecessor to ppSD2. Following a shift to PHP as the program's programming language, ppSD2 was released to the public in September 2008, after roughly 1 year of beta testing.

Today, ppSD2 is used by over one thousand small businesses and organizations. Work continues on the program with updates being released on a bi-weekly basis, as well as larger upgrades coming every 6-8 months.
